The event planning industry is very fun and stressful.. Contrary to popular belief, it's not as easy as it sounds. In organizing an event, there are a lot of factors that need to be considered. One has to be excellent in budgeting and making ends meet with what the client wants, plus with all the pressure with the scheduling and the dates, one has to always be on top of things. He also has to have grace under pressure to pull off an event as if all the planning went smoothly when it didn't. The key to a successful event planning is to organizing everything properly. And to be able to organize everything properly, one has to have excellent time management skills.

Another important factor needed from an individual when it comes to event planning is creativity. One doesn't have to be an artist to get into the Philippine event planning industry, but it's important that one has a good eye for details and colors. It's a very demanding job but a lot of people who enjoy the adrenaline rush find comfort in the success of an event.

Also, most of the time being an event planner doesn't constrict one to stay at the office and deal with clients through phone calls and e-mails. There will be times when they have to meet with clients and check the venue and other matters regarding the event. It also can't be considered as a straight 9-5 job because there are times when one has to start working as early as 6 am until the wee hours of the night.

There are a lot of businesses and organizations that work hand-in-hand with event planners to benefit both parties. While being an event planner is a relatively new career field, more and more people are finding interest in this industry because there are a lot of skills and experience that are learned and gained.
