ASSISTANT EDITORS (SCIENCE, ENGLISH, MATH, COMP. EDUCATION)
at C&E PUBLISHING INC. in Quezon City
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a.Provides support for the Area Editor and the Associate Editor in all their editorial functions and performs all the necessary clerical tasks for the projects in his/her area of specialization
b.Safe keeps and organizes all the materials in his/her area and facilitates the movement of manuscripts and proofs among the personnel involved in the book development processes
c.Performs mechanical editing (grammar and style) of raw manuscripts before endorsing them to the Associate Editor or the Area Editor for substantive editing
d.Encodes hand-written materials, re-encodes poorly encoded manuscripts, and implements corrections on manuscripts and proofs, if necessary, to facilitate the timely completion of projects
e.Proofreads materials in his/her area of specialization to correct typographical errors, punctuation errors, misspellings, and formatting inconsistencies
f.Assists in the gathering of the needed research data for studying the effective instructional approaches and pedagogies that will be utilized in the projects
g.Assists the authors and illustrators in researching photos and illustrations that are needed in the manuscripts
h.Prepares the minutes of meetings of authors and the editorial team
i.Performs other related tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATION GUIDES
a.Education
i.Holder of at least BSE/BEEd/BS/AB in the required subject area
b.Experience
i.Minimum of 2 years in the academe or educational publishing
c.Skills
i.Has a strong knowledge base in the required subject area.
ii.Has good writing and editing skills
iii.Possesses research and fact-checking skills
iv.Proficient in computer applications such as word processing and creating spreadsheets and slide presentations
v.Able to prioritize several projects at once, handle large workloads and meet tight deadlines.
vi.Good oral and written communication skills.

i. Male/Female, not over 30 years old
