The music industry in the Philippines has been an issue for sometime now, because of the way things are going with most of the music that are playing in mainstream stations today. While there are still bands and artists that emerge to create Original Pilipino Music, there are also a lot of artists that use music to promote another trend, sometimes even an annoying trend.
The music industry is mainly responsible for selling compositions, and performances. Among the people who operate include the artists themselves, musicians who only compose the songs for other artists, and companies and labels who create and sell the music.
Included also in the industry are the publishers, producers, online music stores, retail music stores, record labels, music venues, promoters, talent managers and many more. The primary goal of these peoples is to promote music and to be able to sell it to the people. The taste of people when it comes to music constantly changes, that's why it's crucial for the people who are in the music industry to always be updated and be in the know about what type of music the people are currently looking for.
There are also what are called the music industry organizations that monitor what's hot and what's not when it comes to the current type of music the people want. These organizations put out lists of top sales of music, albums, singles, and artists based on the current trend, and these lists help them figure out what move to do next in their business.
